Attendance is captured automatically based on who actually joins the live session — you don't need to manually mark students present as a general rule.

The Mark Present checkbox next to each student's name exists as a manual override, for cases where automatic tracking doesn't catch it correctly. The most common case is a student joining through a public/shareable link instead of logging into their own dashboard and clicking into the session — that kind of join isn't tracked automatically, so you'll want to mark them present yourself if that happens.

For a group session, every enrolled student appears individually in the attendance list, and you can set sessions consumed the same for everyone in the class or a different value per student.
