Wise Help CenterHow can we help you teach?
Everything a Wise tutor needs to know — from your first login to getting paid.
1. Getting Started
Getting your welcome email and logging in
How you receive your invite and the two ways to sign in — no password needed.
Always use your institute's own login link
Why Wise's marketing site won't work, and how to find your institute's real URL.
Setting up the mobile app
Connecting the Android/iOS app to your institute with a shared code.
2. Running a Live Session
Finding your upcoming sessions
Where to see what's scheduled: Home, Calendar, or inside a course.
Starting a session
The Start button, when it activates, and the one-click redirect into your classroom.
Editing, renaming, or cancelling a session
The three-dot menu, and what's admin-only vs. tutor-permitted.
Adding a private note to a session
Notes visible only to admins and instructors, never students or parents.
Why can't I start someone else's session?
Only the assigned tutor (or an admin) can trigger the classroom connection.
3. After the Session
Submitting session feedback
The full form: session status, sessions consumed, topics, comments, and attendance.
Session status vs. sessions consumed — they're independent
Why marking a No Show doesn't automatically mean zero credits used.
How attendance is tracked
Automated by default, with a manual override for public-link joins.
What happens after you submit feedback
Credit deduction, payout status update, and the automatic parent/student email.
Can I edit feedback after submitting it?
Depends on your institute's configuration — who to ask if you can't.
The AI outputs generated after a session
Session summary, AI-generated quiz, and revision notes — what they are and who can see them.
4. Your Courses
Finding your way around a course
The Home, Timeline, and Content tabs inside a course.
Understanding session credits on your course
How Remaining/Consumed/Total works, and what to do if a learner shows none.
Posting to the Timeline
Course-wide announcements — and when to use Chats instead.
Organizing course content
Sections, the ten resource types, reordering, and Copy Resource.
Where recordings and certificates show up
Two auto-populated sections you don't need to manage yourself.
What Progress Reports are
AI-generated student performance reports — preview status, admin review, and what to expect.
5. Getting Paid
This section only applies if your institute has enabled payout visibility for tutors. If you don't see a Payouts item in your navigation, ask your admin whether this is available for your role.
Understanding your Payouts overview
Sessions, duration, and charts summarizing your teaching activity.
Your payout rate per course
Why the same subject can pay differently across courses.
Reading your payout status
What "Feedback Pending" and "No Payout Set" mean, and how to resolve each.
Split Payments (Optional): Connecting your payout account
Only needed if your institute has Split Payments enabled: link your Stripe account to receive payouts.
6. Your Schedule
Setting your working hours (Availability)
Adding one or more availability windows to reflect your real schedule.
Marking time off (Leaves)
Blocking scheduling for vacation or days off without editing your regular hours.
Connecting your Google Calendar
Two-way sync lives under Calendar Settings, not Preferences.
Session booking rules explained
Minimum notice, buffer time, and future-booking limits in Preferences.
Understanding and resolving session conflicts
The three conflict types, and who can resolve each.
7. Notifications
8. Messaging
9. Troubleshooting
I didn't get a reminder before my session
Likely a notification setting, not a bug — check with your admin what's enabled.
A student's attendance looks wrong
The public-link-join gap, and how to fix it with the manual override.
My payout isn't showing up
Reading Feedback Pending vs. No Payout Set to find the cause.
The Start button isn't clickable yet
The activation window is time-based and set by your institute.
I'm having audio or connection issues in a session
Recommended browser and app setup: Chrome/Firefox, the Zoom app on desktop, and the Wise app on phone.
