Chats on Wise work without anyone seeing anyone else's phone number or email — everything routes through the platform. Enable Chats for the institute is the master switch; Reactions turns on emoji responses to messages.

Permissions control who can start a conversation (anyone can still reply to a thread someone else started, even without permission to initiate one):

  • Learners can chat — and specifically with Tutors and/or Course Admins.
  • Parents can chat — and specifically with Tutors and/or Course Admins.
  • Tutors can chat — and specifically with Other Tutors, Course Admins, Learners, and/or Parents.
