Two worth calling out specifically: Session booking has an "Allow learners to manage their attendance" toggle (off by default) — when on, learners can book an upcoming session or cancel one they're attending in this course themselves. Learner Permissions has "Start discussions" (on by default) and "Add comments" (off by default), which gate the Timeline's social feed (5.2) — whether learners can post, versus only react to what an admin or tutor posts.
