Where to find this: Settings → Look and feel

Beyond the logo, cover image, and language/time basics in 2.3, every institute also gets a full Theme Studio that can restyle essentially every visual detail of the web app across all roles — not just brand colors, but button shapes, table density, typography, and more. Changes update instantly in a live preview panel showing real screens (stat tiles, buttons, form fields, a data table, tabs, dialogs, and toasts), and nothing changes for anyone else until you click Save theme, at which point it rolls out to every student, parent, tutor, and admin across your institute at once.

1. Prebuilt themes

Eight ready-made presets are the fastest starting point, usable as-is or as a base to fine-tune further: Classic (the default — navy brand, medium corners, flat cards), Lagoon (calm teal on warm neutrals), Metro (fully square edges, inspired by Windows 10), Material (Google Material 3 — tonal purple, pill buttons), Cupertino (Apple's look — iOS blue, grouped gray backgrounds), Sakura (cherry-blossom pink on soft paper tones), Editorial (a magazine feel — serif type, cream paper, burgundy ink), and Midnight (a full dark mode with glowing focus states).

2. Granular controls

Picking a preset doesn't lock you in — every individual setting underneath it can still be fine-tuned, grouped into: Colors (light/dark appearance, brand color, border strength, a neutral gray family, and the four status colors — danger, success, warning, info — plus surface and text colors), Typography (body and heading typeface, overall text size), Shape and spacing (one global corner-radius control every rounded corner in the app scales from, and a global spacing/density percentage), Buttons (height per size, corner style, fill, shadow, and label weight), Form fields (field height, corners, focus highlight), Tables (header style and height, row and cell padding, text size, striping, dividers), and Cards, dialogs and chips (shadow depth, border, corner rounding, backdrop darkness, chip shape).

3. Effects, use sparingly

A separate, more experimental set of toggles: background page patterns (grid, synthwave, aurora), glowing text and outlines, neon-style buttons, glitching headings, cut/angled corners, and CRT scanlines. The product's own warning on this tab is worth repeating here: these can slow the app down and make it lag on some devices, and can feel like a lot, so treat them as occasional flourish rather than your institute's everyday look.

4. Layout

Sidebar color (brand, dark, light, or a custom color), whether the top bar matches the sidebar or stays white, sidebar width, and the page background color.
